Personal Information

This page has personal information on it that interviewers are generally not allowed to ask, but that I feel is sometimes critical towards making a hiring decision.

As mentioned in other places, my primary skill set is in UNIX systems administration; I have a strong preference for Red Hat Linux, but have worked contentedly on AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris systems as well. I will work with Windows systems when necessary, but I prefer to stay away from Windows whenever possible; UNIX is quite enough to keep me busy.

My personal interests include classical music, mythology, DCI (Drum Corps Insternational), and science fiction and fantasy novels (I've got a collection of sci-fi / fant books that amazes most people due to its sheer volume). I enjoy learning new programming and scripting languages, especially if they're useful languages, and will sometimes end up working long hours on especially interesting projects. I'm also an avid photographer, and find a great deal of enjoyment in photography. I hope to soon begin doing my own film development and possibly become a professional photographer on a part-time basis.
